Advocacy at the Federal Level: The ICA works diligently to advocate for IC-specific research funding. Our work on Capitol Hill has been, and continues to be, vital in our efforts to ensure continued and increased IC research funding.
ICA Capitol Hill Walks: These annual Walks in Washington, DC play an integral role in the ICA’s advocacy program. IC patients from across the country meet one-on-one with their Congresspersons to increase awareness about IC and encourage support of Federally-funded IC research.
Disability Services: The ICA is currently working closely with the SSA to establish a "Ruling" for IC, which will have a major impact on patients’ ability to obtain disability benefits.
We also provide critical help to IC patients who are attempting to acquire disability benefits. We offer patients IC-specific Disability Kits that include information about starting up, preparing for, and winning disability claims from the Social Security Administration (SSA) and private insurers.
