- To provide the most comprehensive and up-to-date information on IC
- To provide IC patients, their families, and friends with a support network
- To educate the medical community and the public about IC
- To advocate in the public and private sectors for research funding and patients’ rights
- To promote and provide research funding to find effective treatments and a cure for IC
To fulfill this mission, we publish the ICA Update magazine, to help you and your loved ones keep abreast of the newest IC developments, and ICA Professional Perspectives, to further educate physicians and healthcare professionals about the latest IC developments. We continue to expand our website with the most up-to-date educational resources, support, research, and IC-related news. Our monthly online news digest, Café ICA, is the source for medical highlights, self-help and coping strategies, and ICA news. A nationwide ICA network of National Patient Support Advocates is available for you when you need a friendly, informed, and understanding ear.
The ICA funds its own Pilot Research Program and administers the Fishbein Family IC Research Foundation Research Program. Together, these programs have distributed over $2.5 million in IC research grants in the past decade. The ICA also works closely with Congress and the National Institutes of Health to ensure continued funding of IC research at the federal level.
