Rockville, MD (November 12, 2008) -- November is Bladder Health Month and a good time to learn more about how to manage bladder conditions like interstitial cystitis (IC) that affect millions of people in the United States, many who often suffer in silence. We encourage you to learn more about managing your IC by talking with your doctor about each of your medicines.
In support of the American Urological Association’s Bladder Health Month, the Interstitial Cystitis Association (ICA) is offering the new, free, online educational Fact Sheet -- How to Learn About Your Medicines.
Also print out a PDF of this information for convenient posting on your refrigerator, on local bulletin boards, and for including with your health information documents. The ICA also encourages healthcare providers to print out copies and distribute them their IC patients.
The American Urological Association is a professional nonprofit organization for urologists that pursues its mission of fostering the highest standards of urologic care by carrying out a wide variety of programs for members and their patients, including UrologyHealth.org, an on-line patient education resource.
The Interstitial Cystitis Association is committed to finding more effective treatments and a cure for interstitial cystitis, an often painful, chronic bladder condition. The ICA promotes and funds research; educates the medical community and public; advocates for IC patients, healthcare providers, and researchers; and offers support for IC patients and their families.
